    Celebrating Christmas after supertyphoon Yolanda

    By RPG | December 5, 2013

Christmas season is here and who wouldn’t think of making a shopping list for gift-giving? However, after the notorious super typhoon Yolanda left our country in devastation in many areas of the Visayas Region, a lot of companies and organizations, our community for one, are skipping their Christmas parties to show our empathy and to condole with the many left (alive!) ones, who had families and friends in “bundles”, all lost to the wrath of the typhoon.

Being in the Council (province-wide) of our community, I would also love to shop for gifts or to even contribute to a new musical instrument for our praise and worship events, but for now I know our community’s top priority is to help the Yolanda typhoon victims. The enormous need for food and basic necessities in the affected areas prompted our Council to organize the bringing of a truckload of help, in the form of sacks of rice, canned goods, groceries, and relief goods, for the most damaged part of Panay island (the Northern parts of Roxas, Capiz; Aklan; and some towns of Iloilo), more proximate to us than Leyte or Samar, which provinces are the more known most-battered by the horror typhoon!

May God bless all of those who extended help to the typhoon victims!
