Got sleep problems?

There are times when I have difficulty sleeping even when I am already very tired and sleepy. Hubby said, I might be thinking a lot of things or I am bothered about something. Maybe there’s some truth to it coz I noticed that after busy days loaded with activites, at night I would lie awake for long thinking about the day’s events.

But for others who have sleeping difficulties, it might be because of a different problem. One way is to check the cushions and pillows you’re using if they’re comfortable enough and provides the maximum support. Sometimes, wrong pillows used for sleeping can badly affect our sleep.

Don’t also eat much right before bedtime! Arghhhh! It’s past 11 at night, and I just ate a bowl of noodles. I have to wait till the food is digested before I can hit the sack!

A short tribute

One of our country’s former chief executives, a jolly, bespectacled intelligent fellow who was the 12th president of the republic, and is one of the two living former presidents (the other one being ex-President Joseph Ejercito Estrada), was also a graduate of the famous West Point Military Academy of the United States.

He is also famous to be sighted with big cigars on his mouth, but these may be only on appropriate times. We trust he is matured enough to avoid these actions, especially during the times when he is with big dignitaries, or on official functions. I refer to the person of, and a salute to, former President Fidel Valdez Ramos!

Measly technology

It’s really an advantage if one is “high-tech”, though it may just be being able to order things online. For one, the big possibility is: one can buy it for much lesser and if the service is good, one can have it fast. Of course, a disadvantage is: one may not get the right size, or expected quality of material used, as it could be misrepresented by unscrupulous and fake makers who advertise online. I’ve just mentioned a sample situation; there are many more.

But to be high-tech to be able to need software bundle, and many more very technical paraphernalia, I shy away from this. That may be playing too far from what my “measly technology” can tackle! I may not be anymore able to deal with such!

Short vacation is on its way

Yehey! Our vacation to PH is nearing! How I wish it would be as long as my usual vacation there, three months, but now it will just be three short weeks! If I’d explain even before your asking, it’s because before, I would stay behind, with my hubby going ahead of me as he could not stay any longer, his office would not allow him ! One time, I traveled with Caity but she was a baby, who most of the time would just sleep. Now, they are two, and I would not like to experience the inconvenience I had during my last coming home with the two of them. I’ll then have to travel with hubby with the two kids.

My mind can’t be kept from imagining, with many questions one of which is: Would they have enough cabinets for the extra four of us? Ah I don’t mind even if it will just be a rolling rack, most especially for the children. With two kids, and lots of toys, we’ll need a place for our stuff, even if we’ll stay there for 3 weeks only.

Ahhh it’s fun to watch!

Oh, oh, it’s a thrill to be a mom of two energetic, dynamic children! You should see them when at play, they can be anywhere, and with all positions and actions children can do! Especially when they are with other equally sort of “hyper” young ones, like when their cousins from Finland visited us for the Christmas Season few years ago!

We put up the slide in the living room, and good that it is carpeted, so they could rumble and tumble and roll about even on the floor! I’s fun, even if one were not playing with, but were only watching, them!

Turning old into new

Buying new things can be costly especially if its something like furniture. When our sofa set was all worn out from decades of usage, we resorted to having it fixed rather than buy a new one. The wooden frame was still in perfect condition anyway, all it needed was a replacement for the upholstery. We found a leather chair repair shop to do the job, and got ourselves a seemingly new furniture after weeks of waiting for the repair to finish.

When you’ve got broken things, check first if they can still be repaired before deciding on buying new, it can save you money. Using different and new materials, painting it with new colors, etc. can give it a totally different new look.

A future plane mechanic

It’s now graduation time in the Philippines and many graduates march to the stage to get their diplomas with their parents proudly watching. Come opening of classes, a son of one of my mom’s friend is taking up the course in airplane maintenance mechanics, to have his schooling in another city of Cebu. How about giving him an airplane cufflinks as a graduation gift? Just to inspire him to work on his dreams and someday be able help back his parents. He seems to be a good lad who’s capable of fulfilling his ambitions. I can only wish him the best. Happy studying, Mac!

The kind of headphone you’d love to have

After working late at night, hubby left his laptop and headphones on the table. With kids around, it’s not advisable to do that but I guess he was very sleepy already and forgot to keep this things out of the children’s reach. The next day, our youngest child found his things and played with his headphones. He made a small tear on the ear cushions. The little boy of course got his share of scolding, but it’s totally not his fault.

Hubby might as well get himself a new skullcandy headphones of some sort. Their Aviator headphones look really cool which I hope the little kid wouldn’t be tempted to play with it. It’s quite expensive @ $149.95 but it promises quality performance with its “integrate precision sound and advanced design to deliver the equivalent of engineered optics for your ears“. It’s definitely not something that should be left where kids can reach it!

Class Ring

Back when we were about to graduate from college, we had to get class rings to commemorate that special moment of our student life. We had a special ceremony which we call RingHop. Our parents were invited to witness this event, and we were dolled up in our dresses (the girls at least) and the guys came in their dashing formal attire. I remembered it was a fun night, but kinda awkward too coz the parents were there. Hahah. Anyway, back to choosing our class rings, there was only one jewelry maker commissioned to do the job, where most universities order their rings too. We had to choose from ring designs, which were limited. It would have been nice if you get to design your own class ring for a more personalized touch, don’t you think? After all, it will be us who will wear the rings.
