I am not a huge fan of electronics. Tell me you’ll buy me a notebook and I’ll most probably choose one according to its looks and color. That’s what happened when hubby and I were picking a digicam. I went for the color, not for the features! haahaha Hubby was annoyed with this.

Earlier he brought me home a LG touch-screen mobile phone. It was an old, unused one from his friend. Even if my phone was older, I’d rather stick to it than learning about the functions of the “new” phone. I’ll wait until it dies on me. I’m not even keen on what my computer features are, as long as I can use the internet and as long has it has all the programs I need for my work, then all is fine with me.

The cigarette industry must be also being stirred for the up up economic surge, though there is this warning of “Cigarette smoking is not good for the health” flashed on the TV every time cigarettes are being advertised; still men continue to be a slave to this little white cylindrical “tubes”, which the general public has accepted to be harmful, most especially to the lungs. I really don’t know what attracts men to this thing, which many call a vice. They are also patronizing a “relative” to this which is the cigar, and cohiba cigars is just a brand name of it.

I’ve been itching to cut my faded jeans to turn it into this:

Denim shorts!!!

Well, the one in the picture is too short, but that’s just to give you an idea what I have in mind.

Since summer will be sizzling hot, this pair of shorts would make a cute get-up to where we’re headed. There are many of these types being sold. Yeah! They’re haunting me everytime I go to stores! The shorts in the picture is from True Religion, sold for $172! Eh! So expensive! I won’t spend money for that only! We’re going to the Expat Market Sale this Sunday and I am hoping to find a pants that would fit me to make my must-have denim shorts dream come true. Cheapskate? hehe Just being practical! Hopefully I can also find other goodies at low prices. I’m not going to buy memory there, computer stuff are better bought brand new! But who knows what I’ll find there. Just the thought already excites me!

when laziness strikes

I am catching up with my online work! I missed many opportunities the past weeks because of the busyness during the Christmas holidays. Sigh… I couldn’t help but to slack and just laze around. But I am glad that I was able to rest for few days during the holidays, something that is really hard to acquire. With the help of my sister, bro-in-law and hubby who took care of the house, kitchen, laundry, and my little girl, I had a grand time just enjoying being a queen. But now, I am back facing reality and tons of work! If I was working in an insurance marketing, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make money with my laziness. But hey, I have a good reason to feel this way. In case you don’t know… I am on my 8th month of pregnancy!

christmas bonus

One of the perks that employees are looking forward during December are the Christmas bonuses they get from their company.

Most people spend their bonus on Christmas shopping , others are wise enough to save it, and for some, they take advantage of having extra money and spending it for practical purposes like repairing their houses, sending their old parents for medical check-up or getting insurance (after choosing from many life insurance quotes).

Unfortunately for us, hubby’s company isn’t giving out these treats anymore. Yeah, blame it on the financial crisis. That’s why we’re tightening our belts this holiday season as we’ve got many expenses lining up!

Clutter, clutter, clutter… that’s how our side table drawer looks like inside. Hubby finally decided to sort everything out. He threw the stuff that were not in use anymore, took out things that don’t belong in there, and arranged the office supplies inside. Now it looks organized and neat but I wonder how long it will stay like that. I hope our little explorer won’t remember to open the drawers and tinker with the stuff hidden inside, or else… Too bad these drawers can’t be locked. If only they can and also the other cabinets here at home, it would really lessen the work I have to do, that is cleaning up little explorer’s mess.

the heat is on!

It’s actually the heater is on. Right, this week they started to turn on the heater as the weather is getting colder. Brrrrr. Earlier today, weather forecast said the temperature was 3C but the actual feel was -4C. That’s already like winter! They said it will be snowing in the mountains already. With those depressing firgure, that means there’s no escaping the cold here anymore except if you’re booking for one of those miami packages in the US. Good for you! As for us, our hibernation has started a little early considering that it’s still autumn. Huhuhuhu…. Mr. Sun, please visit us once in awhile, please?

TV in our condo

Our condo in Manila is starting to become livable! Yehey! Thanks to the effort of my mom and sister. They have been shopping around for the furniture and furnishings of our condo. One of the appliances they bought was a TV.

It looks so small compared to the huge entertainment rack where it’s placed. Having a big LCD TV would have been nice, but our budget is limited. A regular TV would do for now. The place will be for renting anyway, not actually a place for us to live permanently.

Last Saturday an accident happened in my sister’s apartment unit in Finland – their unit almost got burned. Their was apparently a leak in their pipeline which contained lead which reacts with the insulators causing to be flammable. Their eldest son was home alone from a football game. When he used their cooking range to cook food, fire suddenly ignited… Fortunately the two smaller kids were with my sister and their dad, and wasn’t able to witness the terrifying incident. But the eldest was shaken from the surprising experience. It’s good that their apartment is covered with insurance and the apartment manager was taking care of their relocation.
