We took the kids to the playground last weekend and they had a blast there. There were slides, swings, a big pirate ship to explore, tunnels to crawl inside, bars to swing their tiny bodies, seesaws that lets them go up and down, stairs to go up and down too and a big ground for running… There’s also a small food stall that sells gyros and ice cream. It was a simple weekend treat for them but they really enjoyed it a lot. See the pictures below!

This one looks like a good ab workout, what do you think?

And this is a useful way of using an old tire. I want to sit there and sway, sway, swayyyyyy!

The summer season is a great time to go camping. It remains a wish for me to do in the future coz we still have a little baby in the family. I don’t know if he will be comfortable staying out at night if ever we go camping. If we have an rv (recreational vehicle), it would be cool. We can go anywhere we want to and still have the convenience of home which makes it easy for those families with kids. Maybe I have to add in my wish rv too. Oh and rv repair when ever we need our vehicle to be fixed. Now, that’s super cool!

One of the people I admire is my Auntie L who’s still active and looking good even at 70 plus. Last year she visited the Philippines and met my Mom and sister and stayed with them in Manila.

If you observe Auntie L’s face, it’s so smooth and wrinkle-free but according to her, she doesn’t use any soap, she just washes her face with… water! Yup, that’s right. She’s also including lots and lots of nutrient-rich papaya in her diet. Her favorite hot drink is rice coffee which she prepares herself by roasting rice grains in a pot. Rice coffee is caffeine-free and a healthy alternative to the regular coffee most people consume and it has that native coffee taste.

My auntie is still very much physically active compared to other people her age who already need natural arthritis treatments and other prescribed medications to maintain their health. Keep it up Auntie L!

What do men usually talk about when they group together? As a lady, I would oftentimes wonder about this, but sometimes I get the idea when hubby tells me about their conversations in the office or when he meets with his beer buddies.

While a group of ladies usually talk about relationships, family matters, and even politics, they would also include their personal interests and hobbies or whatever project it is they’re currently undertaking. Nope, women don’t only talk about the latest bags, shoes or fashionable items or trivial issues.

How is it with men? Basically their conversations are the same with the ladies, they only differ in their areas of interests, thus while the ladies prefer gabbing about comparing shoe brands, the guys could be talking about the latest football news or debating whether extenz is good for them or not. And who says guys don’t gossip? I’ve actually heard a guy telling his buddies about the love affairs of one of their friends, in a reporter-like fashion. Yup, he’s just too talkative for a guy.

My hubby is fond of bringing a book inside the toilet, which sometimes makes him stay there longer than he should be. I don’t know how he acquired this annoying habit, but for me, even if it’s made of Toto toilets, I couldn’t imagine myself sitting and doing something else other than what I should be doing in the toilet. Heh! I even know of a local showbiz talent who brings her laptop inside the toilet and makes the toilet as her “office”. Oh well, that only shows how we individuals can be different from each other.

I signed up with Facebook a month ago and was surprised how fast it can track friends and relatives with FB accounts too. I was able to connect with my cousins from around the world. It sure takes some of my precious time browsing on their photos. Well, I am kinda curious how they’re doing with their lives you know.

I am happy that one cousin has finally found the love of her life. Aside from her happy love life, she’s into serious physical activities such as biking, weight lifting (I wonder if she also does it with Kettlebell. At the age forty, she really looks fit and young for her age. You can’t even tell that she already has four kids!

Well I am glad that my cousins do seem to be happy with their family lives. Thanks to Facebook for keeping me in touch with them and for keeping me updated!

Last month was the school opening back in the Philippines. Problems of shortage of teachers, textbooks, classrooms and classroom furniture came up again. This seems to be a perennial that hasn’t been solved yet. If education is that important, why can’t our government officials prioritize this problem? With the election close at hand, I bet some are misusing the public funds for their own gain. Hohummm… When will corruption ever end?

Here’s a picture taken from readcycle.org showing a class being held in a multi-purpose structure, because of lack of classrooms:

Children having fun in the playground.

It was a beautiful sunny Saturday when we took out our daughter in the playground that day. As expected there were many children of all ages playing there. Some were in the playhouse, others in the swing or slide, in the meadow there were children playing with ball and our little girl was occupied playing with the sand. Even if I was only sitting and observing the kids, I was having fun too. I couldn’t help but think how these kids will grow up to be. Will they get jobs in sales, or become lawyers, doctors or engineers? Who knows, only time will tell.

A close person I know confided that she might have been a victim of a scammer. For months she was chatting with this very likeable young man. She found his personality pleasing and was surprised to find out they have many common interests. Until she realized that this guy is too good to be true. She did a research and although the name the guy gave really exists; my friend doubted its truth. She thinks that the guy is using the identity of another person and could also be using this scheme to get facts about her which the scammer might use in the future. identity theft protection is important but even if we may use software to safeguard our identity, there are just many ways how evil scammers can extract vital information from innocent people. We have to be vigilant.

It has been two weekends that I went to Prague City centre and forgot to bring my camera. It’s such a shame. Yesterday was a momentous day for Prague, having the new US president in the country. We passed by the building where Obama was having his speech and the place around was heavily guarded. Police visibility was very high. The Suicide Bridge in Prague was lined up with policemen. At the top of building, you can see snipers in black attire keeping watch. It could have been a great photo subject since it was my first time to see in person such a scene. I only get to see them in movies, you know snipers on guard on top of some New York City hotel or skyscrapers. I felt like I was in a movie passing by there yesterday.
