I was watching videos one day showing various inspirational speakers talking about simplifying life, being environmentally aware, serving others and other motivational topics that makes you want to immediately make a change in your current life. Those were short talks, less than 10 minutes, but they were direct to the point and delivered simply. Some of the speakers use lcd dlp projector to show illustrations which makes their talk all the more clearer. I loved watching those videos with all those inspiring and brilliant ideas by these amazing people. Search for TED when you can and be inspired.

I got a disturbing news recently about a family member who’s getting married. Why the sudden rush? The guy is still young (also the wife-to-be) and the wedding is gonna take place in less than 2 months. Hohum… there’s a mystery to that. Oh well, okay I’ll spill the beans. The girl is pregnant. And they’re planning a church wedding which is really not appropriate coz the guy isn’t a believer! In fact, he is very vocal about his agnostic beliefs. Getting married in the church? What for?Just because of the baby?

Anyway, I’m sure they’re all busy with the preparations, choosing location for the ceremony itself, the reception, looking into different kinds of wedding rings such as artcarved wedding bands, wedding clothes, and all that stuff. With all these hullaballoo, its easy to forget about the importance of getting married and get caught in the whirlwind of preparations. I hope these kids get the time to really reflect about the purpose of marriage, and get proper advice before they plunged into a lifetime commitment and realize their mistake a little too late.

Everybody’s looking forward to summer but here it is, and its raining cats and dogs! Hayyyy! It has been raining all week, and according to the forecast, the coming week will be wet too! huhu.. what a summer! This gloomy and cold weekend is imprisoning us in our home. We went out earlier to do some grocery-shopping and went home immediately. We can bring the kids to an indoor playground, or any recreational centers as an option but even driving out isn’t good for us in this kind of weather coz our car’s wiper is busted. Imagine how challenging and risky it is for hubby to drive with rain-streaked windshield. I hope he finds a replacement for the wiper so it can be fixed already. If not, we will be forced to buy a new car. We might need some payday loans for it, but at least, driving for hubby in the rain won’t be a problem. We’re hoping for a change in the weather. A better one pleaseeee!

Our family back home doesn’t miss attending the weekly prayer meeting of our Catholic Charismatic community, which is held every Monday night. When I’m on vacation in my home country, I attend it too, with my two children, who are darlings of the group. Even my ever-supportive hubby come with us to the prayer meetings, though he doesn’t understand our language, but only the splash of English which the preacher may use here and there during the Gospel message.

Once a month, we have the Diocesan Mass and Healing Rally held at the Bacolod City public plaza. With this gathering, outdoor speakers are used, and each of the Diocesan Gospel choir has a microphone. What heavenly music they provide during worship, but they could be also very vibrant and happily dynamic when joyful songs are sung. I miss our community prayer meetings.

My mom thought it was so brave of me to have decided to travel – with the two and no one to assist me in times necessary, like when I need to take care of my own personal needs. Well, I was able to get through that difficult ordeal anyway. I’m not sure if I will do it again hehehe. But God sent me angels when I really needed help and for sure the airport would also provide emergency assistance when necessary. Was that truly a heroine’s act! Shhhhh.

We’re spending more time outside since the weather had been warmer. The kids love to go out especially to the playground. With the daylight also extending up until 7 in the night, we have longer time to enjoy the outdoors. Many people are also doing the same. When we’re out, it’s impossible not to meet people at any time of the day. Many are biking, jogging, taking their kids out for a walk or their dogs, and some are just out there savoring the nice sunny weather.

It’s enjoyable to people-watch these days coz we’ve already said goodbye to the gloomy winter clothing which always come in colors of black, brown or gray. Though some are still wearing their boots, more are already using their flats, open toe-shoes, rubber shoes, wedges, etc. etc… This change of season means change of attire, which sometimes mean, shopping clothes or shoes for the new season! Yay!

The only thing that is permanent is Change, and in every change there is resistance, for it is not easy to accept something new. Change of residence is no exception. For eighteen long years we lived in a big city, in another province, first for study, then the family stayed for business as a source of living. Time came when our family decided to transfer residence back to our home sweet home.

The change was a challenge, but the bigger one we had to face was how to fit all the things we brought with us. We had two hauls of a big cargo truck. It could have been much easier had we used the thule rack of Cracks & Racks, the “Certified Rack-it Scientists”, as they claim in their site.

Yeah, I’m still deep into my preparation for our most-awaited trip back to my beloved and much-missed home country, and I can’t help but notice how I’ve “filled in” since I have last gone home. Naturally, as I have to go through the clothes I have to bring with me, and this means I have to include only the ones that fit me. I have then to plan how to be back to my previous figure, as I don’t want everybody back home to comment that I’ve “bloated”, though in a sense it’s true!

I’m sure there are many others like me who would want an instant weight loss result. Well, I bet they’re choosing over a lot of diet and weight loss options, reading apidexin reviews or asking recommendations from friends and even licensed physicians or trainors. As for me, maybe I could just do exercise? Hmmm… Wishful thinking again! Tee hee.

June is that time of the year again when weddings are aplenty! Lots of brides and grooms are scouring gift stores for unique wedding favors. As a bride once, I know how hard it is to look for these items. We all want to have the best for our wedding, so we definitely like something that’s special, something which our guests will like and appreciate. When we were planning for our wedding reception back then, I didn’t really want to cause extra hassle for ourselves, so we just took what the wedding favor our caterer offered to us to be included in the reception package. It all depends on the bride and groom how they want their wedding to be. If its a lavish one, then there are always wedding coordinators to help with planning every detail of the wedding. But whether it’s a simple or a grand wedding, the most important thing is that the couple is finally united in God’s grace as man and wife.

With the heart-breaking news from my friend just a few days ago, I try to while away and forget the sorrow so I won’t easily get affected by life’s sad events. I pity her, especially as grief like this easily makes one lose weight, don’t you think so? Well, for her anyway, her body frame is such that she wouldn’t need diets for quick weight loss to lessen her chubbiness.

So I console myself, trying to sugar-coat the situation for her. After all, it will benefit her figure, never mind the sorrow (joke only). This has to be accepted anyway, and she should move on. Life goes on, if only for the rest of the family, and society as a whole. Per Christian attitude: Death is the gateway to heaven, and we have to praise and thank God in all situations!
