Challenges of crafting

I’ve got a lot of craft projects I want to make but since I don’t know where to buy the materials I’ll be needing. For example, I wanted to buy colored art papers but paper stores here in Prague don’t carry that kind of product. Dang! It has somehow discouraged me to continue with my desire. I miss that bookstore back in my country where they sell all sorts of supplies for office and school. It was my favorite place to hang out especially the book section.

Anyway, I resort to being resourceful and made use of whatever that is available here. With some luck, I was also able to find a store which sells arts and crafts materials, though they have limited varieties, its better than none at all. I’ll be throwing a party for my son’s birthday and I am trying to make some decorations which I found ’round the internet. I’m kinda excited so far with the results. Can’t wait to see all the finished projects make a show on that special day!

Photography hobby

Owning a digital camera has become common already. Lately, more and more people are buying DSLR cameras even if its expensive. Many have made photography their hobby and would spend big money buying different kinds of lenses to take very good pictures. For nature enthusiasts, they’d even get underwater cameras to be able to capture the beauty underwater.

It’s quite tempting to get into this photography craze but I really don’t have the time and the enthusiasm to learn technical stuff about how to take good pictures, etc. So I am just satisfied with our point and shoot camera. There’s at least two photography enthusiasts in our family, so if I’d ever need their skills I just have to call them for help.

Wanna ski?

With the winter coming, someone asked me if we’d like to go skiing with them. I immediately asked her “what about the kids?” Since coming to Europe, I have never tried skiing coz motherhood got in the way. haha Well, on my first winter here, I was pregnant and then life got busy. It’s difficult to think how we’d enjoy skiing with two tiny kids with us. I think we’d wait when they’re older so we can all enjoy it. I’m not sure too if I’d be comfortable staying for at least a week in snow too. For most of the time, I’d be wearing a warm clothing like northface fleece jacket to keep me toasty and holding a mug of hot cacao! Hubby is probably wanting to hit the slopes. It’s been years since he last went skiing. I’m sure he misses that kind of fun. Do we wanna ski? Are we ready to do that? That’s the question I’ve got to ask him.

Craft stuff

As a fan of accessories, I often buy myself bracelets, necklaces and earrings. If given time, I would rather make my own which my sister and I used to do years ago. But these days, I am busy taking care of my two young kids, finding time to pursue my hobby would be difficult.

Whenever I see pretty beads such as the lucite flower beads, I am tempted to buy it and save it for later when I have time doing crafts. I used to wonder where I can buy other materials for this hobby, but then I discovered that I can actually buy online in sites like ebay. They have chains, clasps and studs needed to make accessories. At least I already know where to get the stuff I’ll need. But as of now, I’ll just resort to buying as I really don’t have time yet.

Of bows and arrows

Archery is one sports game that is not so common, but which is enjoyable for the one who go for it. One reason may be is that: it is an expensive hobby, which is a deterrent for those of lesser resolve to pursue it.

Aside from the bows and arrows, and whatever gear worn, some of the paraphernalia/tools/equipments needed are: hunting tree stands, Adjustment wrenches (the bow adjusting wrench, nock adjustment wrench, etc.) saw blades, strip blades, Allen nocking pliers, index shaft holder, arrow insert tool, among others. With regards to tree stands, there are other uses for them of course. They can be Christmas tree stands also, or it can be used also for other sports game.

summer camping

The summer season is a great time to go camping. It remains a wish for me to do in the future coz we still have a little baby in the family. I don’t know if he will be comfortable staying out at night if ever we go camping. If we have an rv (recreational vehicle), it would be cool. We can go anywhere we want to and still have the convenience of home which makes it easy for those families with kids. Maybe I have to add in my wish rv too. Oh and rv repair when ever we need our vehicle to be fixed. Now, that’s super cool!

on digital scrapbooking

Digital scrapbooking has become a fad these days. If you are fond of blog hopping, you’ll notice that there are many bloggers who are into this hobby. They show off their creativity in their blogs. It’s quite an expensive craft but thanks to many generous artists who share their works for free.

I tried digi scrapbooking twice. The first time was when I made an invitation for my girl’s first birthday and the second was for another invitation for her baptism day. It was fun but I just don’t have enough time to venture into it yet. Maybe when my little girl is already big, I’ll have extra time to do whatever I want to do.
