My mom has a friend who had a problem with her son, who sort of got out of his usual behaved self, could not sleep, and would not anymore eat. He felt that all around him was against him, and was not easy to talk with. When they submitted him to a drug test, he was positive of it, to the surprise, not only of his parents, but of his family and friends as well.

Nowadays, parents have to be extra careful of their teenage children, as even if they come from good families and are supposed to be well-mannered, they are surrounded by “friends”, who may drag them to group revelries that may already be evil practices – drug sessions or pot sessions, whatever they are. This son therefore was placed in a rehab center, not the los angeles detox rehab, and as he was not really a drug addicted person, but may have been a victim of bad influence, he’s now well.

Keeping my three year old daughter entertained is a great challenge. Everyday I have to think of ways to keep her occupied, mostly by herself as I have another child to take care of and house chores too.

The internet is a good source for many activities. I am grateful that other moms out there are generous in sharing their ideas. There’s no need to copy exactly the activities, they can be a springboard for inspiration.

Since Valentines is fast approaching, I was thinking of making personalized note cards with her to give to her dad and grandparents. Well, this activity really needs me to sit down with her coz it will entail cutting and pasting. She can’t be left alone yet for this task. She might just pour out all the glue on the paper! That will be a big disaster!

I enjoy when baby A. crawls around fast and learning new motor skills little by little. He can walk while holding on to the furniture or our hands. He is more stable now which makes him confident to move around happily. Big sister C cooperates and plays with him. She would even go up the crib to be with him when he is placed in it!

When I look at my little girl, I can’t help reminiscing the time when she was still the baby, but now she is the elder sister to our new addition to the family. Time comes when she will become a teenager, though this may come later yet, but still time will come. I sometimes question, will she also need therapores for any acne problem? I better not entertain the thought; she will grow up not having any of these problems, by God’s grace!

Our former flat has a big aquarium in the living room. The owner gave us the task to take care of the fish as tenants there. When we had little girl, it was a good entertainment for her, watching the small fish swim inside the glass container. I don’t know what we did wrong but few fish died. Fortunately some also gave birth replacing the dead ones. I remember my hubby going to a pet shop near our place to buy fish food. When he wasn’t familiar with the store’s set up, he’d get lost among koi pond supplies and other fish supplies. But after going there often, he already knew where to find what our little pets at home need.

Our daughter is turning 3 soon and she’s still fascinated with animals. Its really great if kids experience having pets at young age coz it instills in them the love for animals.

Flowers of different varieties, colors and shapes greeted us in the Dendrological Garden last Saturday. Last year, there weren’t any flower gardens under the trees, but this years set-up is surely eye-catching. It’s good that they thought of this to beautify the area more. There were plenty of tulips! And the wild dandelions growing in the fields were just as beautiful, it’s tempting to lie down in the grass and watch the tiny yellow flowers swaying their slender stems as the wind blows. Gazing at the beauty of nature works much like health supplements; it’s relaxing and good for the body.

Here are some of the beauties we saw:

Pretty, aren’t they?

And here I am, lying in the bed of dandelions. What a nice life!

Last weekend we went to a friend’s cottage to enjoy the spring air. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t perfect at all. It was very windy, blowing on us chilly breeze! We wanted to have a barbeque outdoor but the cold was unbearable, my friend baked the meat instead. We also wanted to take a walk to the nearby river, but junked the idea.

I wish we’re like these flowers sprouting around the cottage area; they still stand pretty and proud despite the cold weather.

Seeing a beauty such as the fuschia flower above makes me ask myself “do I still want to look up on life insurance quotes online? ” Nature’s beauty has a way to make one forget about life’s realities. The picture was taken by my sister when we had a relaxing weekend spent in a mountain resort. Even if our accommodation was modest, we still enjoyed our short stay there, surrounded with nature. The climate was cool; breathing the fresh and clean air of the mountain was really refreshing. I’d love to get back there in the future. I hope by then the management would have improved the park and repair their lodging rooms.
