    no prenatal vitamins and yet…

    By DGH | March 20, 2010

Having experienced being pregnant twice here in Prague, I have noticed that my doctor didn’t prescribe prenatal vitamins to me. It was only after some tests that showed I lacked iron that he recommended me to take iron tablets, other than that, he didn’t tell me to take other supplements. I had to ask him if it was okay to take calcium as I know I will be needing it coz according to my mom, a woman loses calcium when giving birth. He gave me the go-signal telling me that its an over-the-counter-drug.

Anyway, it was fine with me even if I didn’t have special prenatal vitamins coz I am not really fond of taking medicines. When I am sick, I would usually resort to home remedies first, rather than take medicines. So far, both my pregnancies were alright. I was in good health and there were no problems with my deliveries.
